Marçal Ayats is a cellist, composer, arranger and educator, with a broad career spanning chamber music, roots music and contemporary creation. He is a member of Quartet Brossa, an ensemble recognised for its ability to cross musical languages and winner of the 2023 Alícia Award for Best Recording Production for Les Transformacions. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with renowned artists, various orchestras and stage projects, and has also worked in contexts linked to artists such as Rosalía. In Momi Maiga’s quartet, his cello brings lyricism, depth and an essential chamber-music dimension to the dialogue between the kora, percussion and voices.
