Saskia Niehl is a passionate chamber musician and has been a member of the Avin Trio since 2025. She studied in Freiburg, Lyon and Berlin, most recently completing her concert exam in Hanover with Prof. Elisabeth Kufferath. Alongside her work with the trio, the violinist is also a member of the Nerida Quartet, which has already won several international awards.
Ms Niehl has also won numerous awards as a soloist, most recently receiving the special prize from the German Music Foundation for being a finalist in the 2022 German Music Competition. She has performed with orchestras such as the Cologne Chamber Orchestra and the North German Philharmonic Orchestra Rostock, and has performed chamber music at venues including the Philharmonie Berlin, the NDR Sendesaal Hannover, the Heidelberger Frühling Festival, and the Ghent Festival van Vlaanderen. Together with pianist Nasti, she curates sonata programmes with a particular focus on contemporary music and female composers.
Saskia has been a member of Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since 2025; she was an academician with the orchestra from 2022 to 2024.
