Workshop: Experiencing nature – designing your dream park with heart and hands
What does your dream park look like? A place for exploring, relaxing, socialising or playing? In our workshop, we’ll work with you to design small, nature-oriented parks. We at WILA Bonn will provide you with the space to create a so-called PikoPark as a model. These collaboratively developed spaces make cities more liveable: they create space for socialising and experiencing nature, strengthen community spirit and improve the environment right on your doorstep. Bring your ideas to the table, get creative and use your heart and hands to design new favourite spots for your neighbourhood.
Wissenschaftsladen Bonn e. V. has been developing projects at the intersection of science, education and society for many years. Its aim is to empower people to act sustainably and to work together to develop future-proof solutions. To this end, the association focuses on creative participatory formats, education for sustainable development and dialogue between different social groups. Issues such as climate protection, biodiversity, resource conservation, sustainable urban development and social participation are at the heart of its work.
The Bonn Climate District is part of a community engagement project run by the City of Bonn, managed by WILA Bonn. Working alongside local initiatives and residents, the project develops ideas for climate protection and climate adaptation. Using the »Klimamobil«, the project brings information, workshops, advice and activities to various neighbourhoods across Bonn. The aim is to strengthen local communities, promote sustainable practices and make Bonn a climate-resilient and liveable city.

Every week, the Debating Club brings together people from a wide variety of backgrounds to discuss topics from the worlds of politics, business, culture and science. It’s not about a free-for-all debate, but about speaking according to set rules. Participants aim to examine each topic from both the for and against perspectives using convincing arguments. It is a student club – but anyone keen on hearing well-constructed arguments is very welcome to drop by the club evenings. These take place every Thursday at 6.30 pm in the basement rooms at Adenauerallee 10.
A group of knitting enthusiasts of all ages and genders meets weekly to knit together, have a chat and enjoy each other’s company. Anyone who’d like to knit in a friendly group, have a natter, have a laugh and spend some quality time together is warmly invited to join us!
Knitting needles and some leftover wool are available for anyone curious to give it a go.

Anything can happen – nothing is planned! Ungebügelt faltenfrei performs improvised theatre full of spontaneous stories, rousing music and wild comedy. Have you always wanted to give improv a go? Then come along and discover the basics of improvised theatre. Beginners, experienced players or simply the curious are all welcome.

Every week, the Urban Sketchers from Bonn sketch the city and its surroundings from a different perspective: sometimes at an exhibition in the Bundeskunsthalle, sometimes in the gardens of the Volkshochschule on Budapester Straße, during the cherry blossom season in the old town, in Rüngsdorf, and so on. After the meetings, the drawings are displayed online on their blog.
As part of »Meet Your Hobby«, the Urban Sketchers Bonn invite the public and anyone interested in the Festival Salon to join them in sketching (materials will be provided).
Sketch whatever you see: the surroundings, other people, the view from the window…
The group is happy to answer any questions and offer assistance. There will be a small exhibition at the end.
