Aleix Tobías is a percussionist, drummer, singer and composer, and one of the most versatile figures on the Catalan music scene. His career is closely linked to roots music, Iberian percussion, world music and contemporary creation. Founder of Coetus, the Iberian percussion orchestra, he has collaborated with artists such as Marco Mezquida, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Aziza Brahim, Judit Neddermann, Eliseo Parra, Maria del Mar Bonet and Raúl Rodríguez, among many others. In Momi Maiga’s quartet, his rhythmic universe brings energy, depth and an organic connection between African tradition, the Mediterranean and contemporary musical languages.
